PM’s remarks after inaugurating the TCS Japan Technology and Culture Academy

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today inaugurated the TCS Japan Technology and Culture Academy and flagged off the first batch of students who will be going to India for training with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services). The Academy is a Joint Venture of Tata Consultancy Services and Mitsubishi Corporation.

In his remarks to the students, the Prime Minister said the 21st century would be a ‘knowledge century.’ He also referred to India’s ‘knowledge’ heritage and leadership of the world in the past, through institutions such as Taxila and Nalanda.

He hoped the students would come back with fond memories and become Ambassadors of India.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage today to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, Guyana. He recalled Bapu’s eternal values of peace and non-violence which continue to guide humanity. The statue was installed in commemoration of Gandhiji’s 100th birth anniversary in 1969.

Prime Minister also paid floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument located close by. This monument was unveiled in 2011 in commemoration of 100 years of the Arya Samaj movement in Guyana.
