PM reviews Jammu and Kashmir flood situation; to visit the state tomorrow

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, was briefed this evening by the Home Minister after his return from a visit to Jammu and Kashmir to survey the flood-affected areas. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the Prime Minister immediately called for a review meeting to assess the situation. The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister and the Additional Principal Secretary to Prime Minister. 

After reviewing the situation, the Prime Minister decided to visit Jammu and Kashmir to personally assess the gravity of the situation and understand the problems being faced by the people. 

The Prime Minister will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday - September 7th, 2014.
