Both Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand have progressed under BJP.” He further added, “Why did Congress oppose creation of Uttarakhand as a state? Those who cannot think well of the people here, how can they govern?”

Taking a dig at the opposition parties PM said, “Samajwadi party & Congress ruined Uttarakhand. They played with aspirations of people here.”

Talking about the scope of tourism in Uttarakhand, PM Modi said, “Dev Bhoomi can attract tourists from all over the country. This land has so much potential for tourism sector to flourish.”

The Prime Minister opined that development of Uttarakhand  and its economy was of utmost importance for his government, “Whenever one thinks of Yoga, he or she recalls Haridwar & Rishikesh. We'll give impetus to the sector by developing proper infrastructure.” He further said, “World is moving towards holistic healthcare. Uttarakhand has much potential to contribute to this sector.”

Shri Modi mentioned that the previous govt did not do anything for our servicemen. The PM said, “Congress did not even note the difficulties our ex-servicemen faced! How can that be accepted for those who fought for the Nation?”  He further added, “The Congress made mockery of One Rank, One Pension scheme. It was only after we assumed office, the scheme was implemented.”

PM Modi stressed Congress has looted the country for 70 years and he is continuously fighting against corruption. “We initiated strong steps against corruption & a few people are feeling its heat. Those who have looted the nation won't be spared,” said the PM. “Would not step back in taking decisions that benefit poor. Will face every difficulty but won't let anyone play with aspirations of poor,” added PM Modi.

PM Modi remarked that his govt is dedicated to giving a better life to the people of Uttarakhand . “Our Government is devoted to serve the poor. We are providing gas connections to poor. This has benefited several rural households,” He said.

PM Modi stressed that Uttarakhand needs development but the current state govt is not doing anything regarding that, “Am surprised that a few speak about Harda tax! But why are development projects stalled? This has badly hit progress of the state,” he added.

Several BJP karyakartas and leaders attended the event.
