Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a massive public meeting in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Beginning his speech, Shri Narendra Modi credited the 125 crore Indians for the country’s growing stature on the world stage.

The Prime Minister remarked that Uttar Pradesh needed a Vikas Yagya that would free the state from the strangles of nepotism, casteism and criminalisation. “A new Vikas Yagya in Uttar Pradesh will remove the evils of nepotism, casteism and criminalisation that has troubled the state for several years”, the PM added.

PM Modi noted the problems that youth in the state suffered due to lack of opportunities. He added furthermore saying that providing employment opportunities to the youth have been a major focus for his Government. “The hardships that the elders had to face, we don't want the youth to face those hardships. Without development, how can the youth of India get employment opportunities? We decided on abolition of interviews for Class III and Class IV. This is an effort to end corruption”, said the PM.

Shri Modi stated that, Samjwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, both who ruled the state for several years had only made serious allegations against each other but they did nothing for the state to prosper when in power. He said that, in contrast, wherever there was a BJP led Government, the state had prospered at fast rate. “When Kalyan Singh ji and Rajnath Singh ji served in UP, the state developed greatly. Development is our priority. Development has always been a priority for BJP in Uttar Pradesh”, he added.

Shri Narendra Modi highlighted several measures of the BJP led NDA Government at Centre that were leading the country on the path of progress and uplifting the poor and marginalised to lead a better life. He shed light on how his Government had taken up the work to electrify rural India in mission mode. The PM added, “As an MP from UP, I felt really sad that there are villages in UP that lack access to electricity.”

Citing pro-farmer steps taken by his Government, the PM talked about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The PM said that it was the most farmer friendly crop insurance scheme launched independence. He also spoke at length about the on-going developments in the infrastructure sector. “The pace of building roads, railway infrastructure is the highest. Highest coal production happened after our Government assumed office”, he added.

The rally was attended by several BJP state and national leaders. Veteran BJP leaders, Shri LK Advani and Shri Murli Manohar Joshi were present.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.
