PM Modi arrives at Kigali, Rwanda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Kigali, Rwanda marking the start of his three nation tour. In a special gesture, Prime Minister Modi was received by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.

This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Rwanda. During his visit, PM Modi would hold bilateral talks with President Kagame as well as hold interaction with business leaders.

The PM will visit the Genocide Memorial and participate in an event on "Girinka” (one cow per family), a national social protection scheme of Rwanda personally initiated by President Paul Kagame.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage today to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, Guyana. He recalled Bapu’s eternal values of peace and non-violence which continue to guide humanity. The statue was installed in commemoration of Gandhiji’s 100th birth anniversary in 1969.

Prime Minister also paid floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument located close by. This monument was unveiled in 2011 in commemoration of 100 years of the Arya Samaj movement in Guyana.
