I have only one caste-‘poverty.’ I have lived through poverty and will work for empowering the poor till my last breath: PM Modi
While corruption and fraud characterized the governance record of the ‘Mahamilawat,’ in UP, on the other hand, transparency and speed characterized the BJP’s record: PM Modi in U.P.
The Mahamilawat’s election campaign is solely focused on making personal abuses on Modi, asking about Modi’s caste and his family background: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large public rally in Ballia constituency in Uttar Pradesh today. Addressing the massive rally, PM Modi responded to those asking about his caste and said, “I have only one caste-‘poverty.’ I have lived through poverty and will work for empowering the poor till my last breath.”

Hitting out at the ‘Mahamilawat’ alliance of Congress-SP-BSP in U.P. for their poor governance, PM Modi said, “I was the Chief Minister of Gujarat for a period longer than the combined time of ‘Bua-Babua’ in U.P but still the people of U.P remember how these parties ruined the state’s economy with their endemic corruption and lawlessness. Their election campaigning is focused on making personal abuses on Modi, asking about Modi’s caste and his family background. Unlike them, I have never sought support on the basis of castes in my long political career. I have only one caste: ‘poverty,’ that is why, I stood up against poverty always.”

Describing how the BJP government under his leadership since 2014 has worked continuously for the empowerment of the people, PM Modi said that while corruption, fraud and loot characterized the governance track-record of the ‘Mahamilawat,’ efficiency, transparency and speed characterized the BJP’s track record in the last five years. PM Modi described numerous infrastructure and development projects started in Eastern UP and North-East India which will significantly improve ease of mobility in these areas while also building next-gen infrastructure to support new technologies like 4G and broadband services to the remotest corners of the country.
