Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an event at inauguration of new terminal building of veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Questioning the Opposition on corruption and scams worth lakhs of crores, PM Modi remarked, “The Opposition equates the level of corruption with stature, higher the corruption, higher the stature. It values all those people who have been accused of gravest of corruption and crimes and have also been sentenced to punishments by the honourable courts."

"All such members of the opposition are deemed to be regarded even more despite indulging in so much corruption. The Opposition’s unity is based on the roots of corruption. For them it is Of the Family, By the Family and For the Family," the PM added.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage today to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, Guyana. He recalled Bapu’s eternal values of peace and non-violence which continue to guide humanity. The statue was installed in commemoration of Gandhiji’s 100th birth anniversary in 1969.

Prime Minister also paid floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument located close by. This monument was unveiled in 2011 in commemoration of 100 years of the Arya Samaj movement in Guyana.
