Japan delegation calls on C.M, keen to invest in Gujarat

A high-profile delegation from Japan today called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and made a proposal to set up an eco township in the state.

The nine-member delegation, led by Chairman of Japan Development Institute Dr Shoichi Kobayashi, has proposed to set up an eco township modelled on Kitakyushu township in Japan in Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) area here and another township GRMAZ at Dahej, said a government release.

The delegation members stressed that Japan is keen to make investment in the state, which is industrialising rapidly, it said.

The members also discussed various sectors like ship building, ship recycling, wind energy and fisheries with the Chief Minister and senior government officials.

The Gujarat government officials made presentations about the initiatives taken by the state government in various fields like industry, energy, environment and climate change in the state.
