Hon’ble CM inaugurates Amreli Jilla Madhystha Sahakari Bank’s Mahotsav

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called upon the cooperative leaders and farmers to take up drip- irrigation and Gauchar-land development projects. He further stressed on setting-up Soil-Testing Laboratories at APMCs across the State .He was addressing a convention after inaugurating “Amreli Jilla Madhystha Sahakari Bank’s Shatabdi Mahotsav.”

On Gujarat’s Swarnim Jayanti, CM made fervent appeal to promote healthy competitions among the cooperative institutions; however the cooperative sector has witnessed petty politics and leg-pulling politics in the last six decades.

CM asserted that State never intended any political interference in the cooperative sector. State has always taken measures to foster healthy competitions and innovations.

Established as “Amreli Khetivadi Pedhi (Amreli Agricultural Institute) in 1910, the cooperative bank has a distinction of laying foundation of the cooperative- sector , the Amreli Jilla Madhystha Sahakari Bank is celebrating its Hirak Mahotsav.

Terming it as a historic event, CM gave compliments to the office bearers for upholding high moral values in cooperative sector, which has enabled setting-up many milestones achievements’. The bank has made remarkable progress during the last 100 years.

Cooperative sector in the other States is facing the crisis of trust. But Gujarat has shown the path to the nation, the cooperative bank has completed the successful spell of 100 years. Remaining away from petty politics, it has safeguarded the morals of cooperative sector, the Bank has really set a shimmering milestone, said CM.

CM claimed that his Government has never bothered about the political affiliations of the fraudsters. Madhupura Cooperative Bank crisis had triggered the economic earthquake in the State, around 130 Cooperative –Banks were badly affected at that time. State never gave patronage to anyone, though the person belonging to his own party, he always ensured that the Law has to take its own course said CM.

CM outlined the policy initiatives taken in the best interest of the depositors, which annihilated the network of kith and kin. State took stern steps to remove corruptions, which ultimately won the trust of people in cooperative sector. People of Gujarat have immense trust in Cooperative Institutes; they give their choice to Cooperative Bank against other Commercial Banking Institutions.

CM gave a call to Amreli District Cooperative to break its past records on the occasion of Gujarat’s Golden Jubilee Year. He inspired the office bearers of the Bank to promote Drip Irrigation -model in the district.

Chairman of the Bank and Agriculture Minister, Shri Dilip Sanghani highlighted the farmer’s friendly initiatives taken up by the Bank. He detailed the progressive journey of the Amreli Jilla Madhystha Cooperative-Bank.

The annual turn-over of the bank has touched Rs. 450 Crores mark, which were only 45 Crores before 10 years. As many as 51 branches offer its services to the farmers, interest-rates on credit have been reduced from 17% to 6%, Shri Sanghani added. State has made good progress on all fronts under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, he further added.

Deputy President of BJP, Shri Purushottam Rupala gave compliments to Shri Dilip Sanghani and his entire team for the progress and development. He also lauded CM’s contribution in resolving Crop-Insurance issue, which was hanging since last 15 years. Shri Modiji played a crucial role, after attaining reigns of power in year 2001, to address the issue in the larger interest of farmers, Shri Rupala added.

CM and Agriculture Minister honoured Late Shri Dwarkadas Patel’s family by presenting them a Shawl, memento and a book. It is to be noted that Late Shri Dwarkadas Patel played a vital role in laying strong foundation of the Bank. Directors who rendered selfless services, devoted employees who are retiring after a successful spell were also honoured on the occasion.

M.P. Shri Naranbhai Kachhadiya, MLAs Shri Kalubhai Virani, Hirabhai Solanki, Hanubhai Dhorajiya, Mansukhbhai Bhuva, District BJP President Dr. Bharat Kanabar, eminent leaders and farmers were among the others who attended the function.
