CM gives GCCI MSME awards to small and medium scale industrialists

CM exhorts industrialists to adopt zero-defect-production and best packaging strategies to capture global markets

Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on Monday gave GCCI MSME award to small and medium scale entrepreneurs. The award function was organized in Ahmedabad by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) and participated by top industrialists of the state.

The awards for three best MSME units were given to Mr. Jyantibhai Ukani – Vasu Healthcare, Vadodara, Mr. Rafi Abdul Rahim Maniyar – Maniyar group and Mr. Bhanuprasad Patel – Omni Lense Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said the state government will celebrate 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda as Yuva Shakti year and will work exceedingly to provide skill-development opportunities to the youths of Gujarat.

“Gujarat’s manufacturing units have built up a brand image and they have to come up with new initiatives to take maximum benefits from global economy”, he said.

Even the country like China is acknowledging Gujarat’s strength in manufacturing sector and is now keen to partner Gujarat, said Chief Minister.

In Gujarat, small businesses act in each other’s supplement within industrial clusters. Helping each other in skill-development was a part of Indian culture, but this institution was collapsed during the times of foreign rule on our country, he said.

Things like zero-defect production and production packaging strategy need to be adopted if we want to beat the global markets, he said. “Moreover, the industries will need to bring qualitative changes while focusing on technology and research”, Chief Minister said.

Speaking on the occasion industrialist Jaimin Vasa of Vasa group said that there are about three lakh small and medium scale industries in Gujarat which is giving employment to more than 20 lakh people. These industries are truly the growth engine of the state and the nation.

Former Director of IIM and the jury member for the awards Mr. Bakul Dholakiya elaborated the criteria for selection. He said that in Gujarat industrial houses get favorable atmosphere for business and that is the reason why micro industries turn into medium scale industries while medium scale industries turn into large scale industry in Gujarat.

Industry leaders Mr. Shankarbhai Patel, Mr. K T Patel, Mr. Nilesh Shukla, Mr. Nilesh Desai and other MSME industrialists were present on the occasion.
