Addressing the International conference organized by Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi said, “Gujarat has taken pioneering initiatives for finding lasting -solutions to some of the basic problems faced by our country. During the 3000 days of present-governance, we could successfully inspire the collective strength of society in right direction, and we could find the solutions. People's participation has worked wonders. Gujarat has shown path to the nation.”

JITO had invited Shri Narendrabhai Modi as a principal speaker to deliver a lecture in the International Conference. International figure in Information Technology, Shri Narayan Murty, Captains of Industries Shri Gautam Adani and Shri Sudhir Mehta were also present.

Referring to the robust growth taking place in our country, Shri Narendrabhai Modi said that poor and deprived classes are in the grip of problems and sufferings; they lack the resources and opportunities. Gujarat has shown the path by finding meaningful solutions to such problems by motivating collective social strength of society for solving their problems.

Chief Minister strongly supported the views expressed by Shri Narayan Murty, “In democracy, Right of voting is of paramount importance.” Agreeing to the views expressed by the thought-leader, Chief Minister observed that it is important to have right leadership with a political will of finding lasting solutions to the problems faced by our nation. Voting is the most powerful tool, he added.

He raised some of the very crucial issues during his address, “Do we not have a path of remedying the problems faced by our nation? Would everything go just like that, as it goes? Since I assumed office in 2001, to solve the problems of common man, we contemplated on finding meaningful solutions with long term vision. People were not getting electricity supply during dinner time. We delivered them 24 hours Electricity Supply through Jyotigram-Yojana. Resources and Mechanism were same, but with a strong-will we could find the solutions. During 3000 days of people-centric Governance, we have taken decisive measures to extricate malnutrition.” He also detailed the pioneering initiatives taken by Gujarat.

Similarly, with an intention to provide speedy justice to the poor, we have implemented the innovative initiative of evening courts. We have visualized the goal of zero-pendency. We could successfully win active participation of people in solving the problems. Shri Narendrabhai Modi said, “We have adopted an approach, Minimum Government, and Maximum Empowerment of the Society.” We have furthered the
Mahajan Parampara, which we have inherited from our ancestors. With a fierce resolve to extricate malnutrition in children and pregnant-mothers; we have launched a public movement to battle out malnutrition. People have reposed their trust, they have made significant contributions in Sukhadi-distribution. “He also outlined the movement under which people donate milk for poor children. Every village has joined in to the movement.

Gujarat's pioneering legislative initiative of making voting mandatory in the local-body's election has gained momentum. It seeks to provide Negative –Voting right to the citizen, as result of that the political parties would understand importance of choosing appropriate candidate. It would further consolidate the strength of people in democracy. Active participation of citizen-forums would get increase positively. Gujarat has made a beginning. Chief Minister made an offer to Shri Narayan Murty,” Come to Gujarat, Guides us .Accept the responsible position of an Advisor to the Government. Help us in implementing your vision of national -interest. Gujarat is ready to take an initiative in this regard.”

Jainacharya, Shri Nayaprabhsagarjee Maharaj appreciated leadership-acumen of Shri Narendrabhai Modi. Under his leadership Gujarat has scaled sublime development heights. Gujarat has shown the path in many ways-compassion to every living-being, environment, national security, safeguarding our culture; Shri Nayaprabhsagarjee Maharaj admired C.M's prodigious initiatives.

Shri Narayan Murty said, “India has registered robust growth in many sectors. Our nation has proved its eminence. Even though, there are crores of people who are illiterate, they do not have an access to drinking water. People who are living below poverty line are help-less. There exists striking imbalance between rural and urban development. There also exists socio- economic imbalance. There is a need for efficient healthcare system for poor people. We must improve the quality of governance. For that, every citizen must exercise his right to vote. We must elect appropriate leadership. We may not afford to remain passive; voting is the most powerful tool in democracy. Rising above religion, caste or any other factor, we must vote for the qualitative leadership. It would consolidate our democracy. “

Chairman-JITO-Shri Gajendra Patni and President Shri Hemant Shah highlighted the theme of the conference.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 and launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November at around 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

ICA Global Cooperative Conference and ICA General Assembly is being organised in India for the first time in the 130 year long history of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), the premier body for the Global Cooperative movement. The Global Conference, hosted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in collaboration with ICA and Government of India, and Indian Cooperatives AMUL and KRIBHCO will be held from 25th to 30th November.

The theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). The event will feature discussions, panel sessions, and workshops, addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by cooperatives worldwide in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister will launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, which will focus on the theme, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the transformative role cooperatives play in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The UN SDGs recognize cooperatives as crucial drivers of sustainable development, particularly in reducing inequality, promoting decent work, and alleviating poverty. The five petals of the lotus represent the five elements of nature (Panchatatva), highlighting cooperatives' commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The design also incorporates sectors like agriculture, dairy, fisheries, consumer cooperatives, and housing, with a drone symbolising the role of modern technology in agriculture.
