Mr Pravind Jugnauth jointly inaugurated the new Airstrip and St. James Jetty along with six community development projects at the Agalega Island in Mauritius via video conferencing today. The inauguration of these projects is a testimony to the robust and decades-old development partnership between India and Mauritius and will fulfil the demand for better connectivity between mainland Mauritius and Agalega, strengthen maritime security and foster socio-economic development.

PM Modi along with the President Wickremesinghe ofSri Lanka and PM Jugnauth of Mauritius, jointly inaugurated the launch of Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius, and also RuPay card services in Mauritius via video conferencing. PM Modi underlined fintech connectivity will further strengthens cross-border transactions and connections. “India’s UPI or Unified Payments Interface comes in a new role today - Uniting Partners with India”, he emphasized.

U.S. Secretary of State, H.E. Mr. Antony Blinken, and Secretary of Defence, H.E. Mr. Lloyd Austin, called on PM Modi. The two Secretaries briefed PM on their discussions with Defence Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, in the “2+2” format.
