Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin visited the Atom Pavilion in Moscow. The pavilion highlights scientific and technological advancements, including a photo exhibition on India-Russia civil nuclear cooperation and a working model of the VVER-1000 reactor used at India's Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.

India and Russia marked 70 years of diplomatic relations. Both the sides reviewed all areas of cooperation, including in the spheres of political relations, security, trade and economy, military and technical field, energy, scientific, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and foreign policy. General Framework Agreement and Credit Protocol for Units 5 and 6 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant were also inked.

PM Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin of Russia took stock of bilateral relations between both the countries and agreed to strengthen cooperation in host of sectors. PM Modi called for an enhanced cooperation in renewable energy and nuclear power sectors. He urged Russian private sector to explore the opportunities Indian economy offered. He also expressed satisfaction over strong defence ties between both countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday dedicated to the nation the first 1,000 MW unit of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project. The 1,000 megawatt Kudankulam nuclear power plant was built with Russian expertise. PM Modi said that Kundankulum was a key addition to India's continuing efforts to scale up clean energy production.
