PM Modi participated in the BRICS-Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue, on 24 August, 2023 in Johannesburg. During his intervention, PM Modi called for the BRICS to be the voice of the Global South. He called for further cooperation to strengthen multi-polar world and emphasised the need to reform the global institutions to keep them representative and relevant. PM Modi met H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of the Republic of Ethiopia, in Johannesburg on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS Summit. Both leaders held productive discussions on key areas including development partnership & capacity building among various others.
