Cabinet approves Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase II

Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs for Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase-II comprising three corridors. The total length of the approved lines will be 118.9 km with 128 stations. At around 11:15 AM, Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key projects and hand over the Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A) to the Army, at Chennai. At around 3:30 PM, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various projects to the nation, at Kochi.
