Cabinet approves construction of Varanasi-Pt.Deen Dayal Upadhyaya multitracking including new Rail-cum-Road Bridge across Ganga River

The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has approved a ₹2,642 crore multi-tracking project for the Ministry of Railways, aimed at easing congestion on the Varanasi-Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction route. This project will add 3rd and 4th railway lines, along with a new rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga, enhancing capacity for both passenger and freight traffic. Aligned with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, it will boost regional development, create jobs, and support environmental goals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Maharashtra

PM Modi will visit Maharashtra on 12th January, 2024. He will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 12,700 crore in the public programme in Navi Mumbai, including the Mumbai Transharbour link (MTHL), now named ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari - Nhava Sheva Atal Setu. He will also inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival (NYF) in Nashik.
