The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi approved Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan with total outlay of Rs.79,156 crore (Central Share: Rs.56,333 crore and State Share: Rs. 22,823 crore) for improving the socio-economic condition of tribal communities, by adopting saturation coverage for tribal families in tribal-majority villages and aspirational districts. PM Modi attended virtual housewarming ceremony of 1.75 houses built in rural parts of Madhya Pradesh under the PMAY. PM Modi added that several of these houses were completed in just 45 to 60 days during the coronavirus pandemic and generated employment opportunities for several migrant labourers who returned to their villages during lockdown.
